ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The UpNxt Program connects our members to future Black entrepreneurs through mentorship, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities. It is designed for Black youth to gain exposure to professional development workshops, vast network, and experiential learning.

When do applications close? May 15, 2023

How old are eligible Future Entrepreneurs? Ages 16 – 22

Do I have to live in Detroit? Host businesses and Future Entrepreneurs must live in Macomb, Oakland, or Wayne county.

Is this a paid internship? Selected Future Entrepreneurs will be paid $15/hr.

Do the host businesses pay the Future Entrepreneurs? MDBBA will be responsible for paying the Future Entrepreneurs.

Can any business host a Future Entrepreneur? MDBBA member can apply to host a Future Entrepreneur. 

I have no work experience, can I still apply to be a Future Entrepreneur? Future Entrepreneurs can apply to be an intern without previous work experience.

What type of businesses can apply? Businesses with a brick-and-mortar located in Macomb, Oakland, or Wayne county are eligible to apply.
