JOB TITLE: Operations Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the daily operations for the MDBBA abides by organizational standard operating procedures. The Operations Manager will be responsible for a small staff who leads core programming, events, outreach, and membership activities for the Alliance. In addition to people leadership, the Operations Manager will also be responsible for all grant compliance ensuring the Alliance remains a great steward of donor dollars. The role will report directly to the COO and is a part of a committed, enthusiastic, and driven team that works to make a significant and devasting impact to the racial wealth gap that hinders black business growth.
JOB DUTIES
- Develop and Implement MDBBA standard operating procedures manual that guides all organizational activities
- Serve as chief people leader to Membership Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Senior Program, providing quarterly performance evaluations and leading recruitment efforts as needed to fill roles
- Responsible for developing a weekly dashboard that tracks the performance and effectiveness of programming and membership activities
- Track and monitor all grant dollars that are received and ensure the Alliance remains compliant based on grant agreements with a bi-annual report out
- Work with leadership to prepare an annual report for all external stakeholders
- Assist with coordination of events and programs for MDBBA members
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and motivate a team to achieve specific organizational goals
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with staff, leadership, members, and other external stakeholders
- Previous experience in handling problem-solving and conflict management skills in ambiguous situations
- Strong sense of accountability and passion for the mission of the Alliance
- Experience building and/or managing a strong team, while developing positive relationships by understanding and addressing individual needs of staff
- Strong ability to get things done through others while meeting critical deadlines and ensuring performance yields top tier results
- Demonstrates strong writing skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Actively works to grow professionally and help others do the same
- Thinks on his or her feet in a nuanced, changing environment

JOB TITLE: Membership Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Membership Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment and retention of members for the MDBBA. They are well versed in the purpose and mission of the organization and can articulate the value of a MDBBA membership transforming leads into paid members for the organization. The Membership Coordinator is a part of a committed, enthusiastic, and driven team that works to make a significant and devastating impact to the racial wealth gap that hinders Black business growth.
JOB DUTIES
- Identifying and recruiting members across Metro Detroit (Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties) for the MDBBA
- Coordinating events that result in increased membership and growth of the organization
- Connecting with external stakeholders on behalf of the MDBBA
- Coordinate with partners that offer benefits and discounts to our membership
- Creating, producing, and analyzing reports to demonstrate growth of membership
- Serve as the main contact for all current members, ensuring they are extracting value from their membership
- Develop a strategy to ensure MDBBA maintains a high rate of retention
- Assist with coordination of events and programs for MDBBA members
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven Experience in Sales, Fundraising, and/or Marketing
- Has demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Demonstrates strong writing skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Is a quick learner who can both take initiative and direction
- Actively works to grow professionally and help others do the same
- Thinks on his or her feet in a nuanced, changing environment

JOB TITLE: Senior Program Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of core programming for the MDBBA. The Senior Program Coordinator will lead the implementation of the Capital Connect, Biz Wiz and the necessary outreach to each county (Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb) associated with each program. The Senior Program Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager and is a part of a committed, enthusiastic, and driven team that works to make a significant and devasting impact to the racial wealth gap that hinders Black business growth.
JOB DUTIES
- Continuously develop and implement MDBBA core programs that result in sustainable and thriving Black businesses
- Lead Capital Connect, and Biz Wiz as initiatives of MDBBA
- Conduct outreach to businesses owners in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties to encourage participation in MDBBA programs
- Work with external stakeholders in the small business ecosystem to fully understand and deploy external resources to our members
- Serve as subject matter expert on navigation of municipal processes and funding resources within the ecosystem
- Creating, producing, and analyzing reports to demonstrate success of MDBBA core programming
- Assist with coordination of events and programs for MDBBA members
- Others duties as assigned
